Meet Sarah, Muff and Misty
Our founder, Misty Scott, established Click & Pick Realty back in 2004. Three years later, her sister, Muff Phillips, joined and unlocked the property management side of our business.
Now, Misty’s daughter, Sarah Scott, is with us, too! With a combined 70 years of real estate, architecture, and property management experience, we deliver a truly personal service, grounded in local Northern Virginia and Maryland expertise.

Becoming Patera Properties
When we started Click & Pick Realty almost 20 years ago, Misty, already a seasoned residential real estate agent, wanted to use the online functionalities that were newly emerging in the real estate industry. We built a robust website with property search, finance tools and neighborhood information.
But over time, we've realized that our sweet spot isn't the tech tools or information one can easily glean via the internet but our experience, attention to detail, and our honest, communicative approach.
Our new name better reflects our growth, the energy we bring, and conveys our offerings and the depth to which we go to help our clients.
With Sarah joining the team, our focus is shifting to include the expertise she brings as well.
Patera ties in Sarah’s architectural background and retains the heritage of tradition with Misty’s business combined with a modern perspective on real estate and home development.
From day one, our mission has been to work with people and create a business of integrity. This remains true, although we've defined who we work best with—first-time homebuyers and people who are transitioning or downsizing.

Misty Scott
Misty is a seasoned real estate broker with over 30 years of experience with local real estate. An 11th-generation Virginian and Fairfax County resident for over 40 years, Misty knows the local neighborhoods and communities inside and out.
Her lifelong commitment to this region offers our clients unique insights to help them make informed decisions. She enjoys helping her clients find their dream home or investment property, navigate negotiations, and manage investment assets.
In her spare time, Misty enjoys spending time in Lancaster County, VA and playing with her three adorable grandchildren.
PROPERTY MANAGEMENT LEAD
Muff Philipps
With over 30 years of property management experience and a degree in Business Administration, Muff brings a wealth of finance and business experience to our team. She’s hands-on, detail-oriented, and responsive - the kind of person you’d trust with your property in a heartbeat.
When she’s not managing one of our many Virginia properties, she can be found volunteering, spending time with her family, tending to her garden, and reminiscing about the many places she lived and the friends she made as a Navy wife.
REAL ESTATE AGENT & DESIGN LEAD
Sarah Scott
Sarah is the 2nd-generation member of the Patera Properties team. She brings with her a creative background in architectural design and real estate development and has recently acquired her real estate license after a decade of working in affordable housing and architecture.
She helps our clients maximize the value of their home with renovation guidance and management.
When she’s not helping our clients create a new floor plan, you can find her exploring her community on long walks with her daughter, husband, and dog and renovating their 1940’s Arlington home.
